In collaboration with Karin Hugentobler and Anna Bürki, a corporate identity was designed for a restaurant that is to open in the Merian Gärten in Basel in autumn 2022. The project was developed together with the Merian Gärten, which is a botanical garden known for their unique iris flower collection. This collection was also the starting point for our design concept. The identity should visualize the values of the Merian Gärten, for example nature preservation, the diversity of varieties and educating the people about nature. At the same time it is also supposed to emphasize the regional, welcoming and yet also modern character of the restaurant. The design concept is based on a photographic implementation of the colorful flowers of the iris collection. These photographs were arranged in a grid and sorted by year of cultivation. This grid was then applied to all the different formats of the corporate identity, such as business cards, postcards, menu cards, posters and many more.
